I became interested in photography in High School in the 1960s.
Tri-X film was the main choice, and the black and white darkroom was a fascinating place. Watching a print appear on a blank sheet of paper in a tray will always be an amazing part of photography. I went on to major in photography at the Rochester Institute of Technology and received a BS degree in 1974. At the time, learning to mix developer from raw chemicals and studying graphs of highlights and shadows seemed relevant. The knowledge I gained about lighting, composition and color I still draw on today.
During and immediately after college I worked as a photojournalist for two local newspapers. I incorporate that style into my work today.
I then spent a few years in a studio as an assistant, shooting products for catalogs . In 1978 I opened my own commercial studio: CREATIVE IMAGES PHOTOGRAPHY. My goals have not changed since that time: provide interesting photographs for commercial clients communication needs. I pride myself on quality customer service and a positive attitude!
